1. Why are you called Yahweh's Restored Israel?
The Bible clearly states that the Almighty God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Yahweh, the Almighty God, is supreme. He is "from everlasting to everlasting" (Psalm 90:2). He is the one who necessarily must have been at all times in order to start any form of creation, either visible or invisible, which now exists. The order we see in the universe could not possibly be a chance happening. Not by the wildest stretch of the imagination could such order arise without supreme, intelligent creation and control; without someone to begin this, there could be nothing. There simply had to be someone at all times to ever begin anything that was ever begun, and Yahweh is that one. The creation of the heavens and the earth did not take place just over 6,000 years ago. Rather each day spoken of in Genesis is symbolic of an unspecified period of time.
Our service, held every Sunday at 10am, begins with a prayer, followed by a song. Then one of our members speaks on a chapter or subject from the Bible after which attendants may ask questions. This is followed by an inspirational reading of a chapter, usually a narrative chapter or a Psalm, chosen by another member of the church. Finally we close with another song and a closing prayer. Our service lasts for about an hour.
Yes, we absolutely believe in medical care. We seek the care of doctors and hospitals whenever needed. We believe that life is precious and should be nurtured and cared for. God created man in His image and gave them intelligence and abilities to learn. Mankind has used their intelligence to make wonderful advances in medical care which has resulted in people living longer, healthier lives.
We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired word of God. Our faith, our practices and our values are based on the Bible. We work to understand and to teach the word of God, as given to us in His word, the Bible. We also treat both the Old and New Testaments as equal and relevant for today's guidance.
One of the deep and abiding beliefs of Yahweh's Restored Israel is that of nonviolence or pacifism. We value the life that God has given to mankind and take with utmost seriousness the admonition given in Exodus: "Thou shalt not kill." We believe that war and violence are never the solution to any conflict. Jesus (Yahshua) taught us to turn the other cheek and to love our enemies. This would make it impossible to participate in war and remain faithful to the teachings of Jesus. Members of Yahweh's Restored Israel Church, therefore refuse to participate in war. Most members do not register for the draft. We also realize that federal income tax, in large part, pays for war. This presents a difficult dilemma for all people of conscience, because paying the federal income tax does finance war. Yet not paying the tax, results in not paying for some of the services received. This is a problem that we are prayerfully considering, but we have not found a solution. We do support the efforts of the National Campaign for a Peace Tax Fund and would welcome the opportunity to pay our share of federal taxes without supporting war.
Currently, we do not have any affiliations with groups or organizations in different states.
We believe in baptizing mature individuals, for baptism is
a visible expression of an individual's decision to consecrate him or herself to
God. Because water immersion pictures an individual's death to their
former life, we believe in total water immersion.
